VENICE BEACH, California — Drawing inspiration from Venice’s endless summers, muscle beaches, 80’s skate patterns and more, FAILE’s (pronounced ‘fail’) 741 California Ave. project features custom ceramic tile designs celebrating the cultural history and spirit of Venice Beach arranged in a striking collage and patch-work design.
741 California Ave was a commissioned project to create something unique for a private residence in Venice Beach, California. Faile created 12 custom ceramic tile designs that celebrated the cultural history and spirit of Venice Beach. In all over 16,000 handcrafted tiles were used to cover the facade of the structure.

If you recall, the Brooklyn-based duo Patrick McNeil and Patrick Miller have worked with tiles before in some of their installations like the FAILE Temple, which Cfile also previously featured.
