Have you seen Bomb magazine’s interview with Nicole Cherubini? We ran a post on that fantastic piece this week. As a follow-up we’re showcasing a talk Cherubini presented about her “hero” George E. Ohr. It was hosted by the Pérez Art Museum Miami in January 2015.
Nicole couches her experience of “The Mad Potter” within her own artistic path, beginning her speech with her transition from fabric to clay (we love stories like that). We enjoy seeing artists we respect talk about their idols because it’s a fresh, subjective window from which we can view someone we thought we knew. New realizations can be found. Cherubini’s enthusiasm is infectious and we’re ready to look at Ohr’s work once again.
