John Albert Murphy shared this fascinating video with CFile of Kim Jin-Hyun, the 2nd generation potter of Simcheon at work. Kim Jin Hyun is the son of traditional potter and founder of “Simcheon-yo” Kim Kyoung-Jong and took over his father’s traditional pottery in 1978 and continues his legacy today.
The video appears to be stereoscopic. If you have access to something like an Oculus Rift development kit, you can probably watch this master potter work in 3D.

Thanks for the other link John B! I was having a hard time with the proportions of the works with the split screen. Wonderful work. The long necked bottle form with the red going up was stunning.

Just in case anyone is interested, here is the link to a single frame video with english subtitles. Great video thanks for sharing.

This is amazing! Reminds me how much harder I have to work. Thank you very much for posting it. By the way, if you just let your eyes relax and stare into the middle of the screen you will get a third 3D image. I’ve only ever done this with still stereoscopic images before, so it was fun to see a video working in the same way.

I hope everyone enjoys the video and beautiful ceramic art of Kim Jin-Hyun. My students loved it.
