A common criticism about computer-aided art and design is that technology lacks the personal touch of the creator.
Well here’s an answer to that criticism. New York City artist Ted Lawson, in his own spin on the selfie, tapped into one of his veins with an IV, hooked the IV to a Computer Numerical Control machine and sat there while the machine inked Lawson’s portrait in his own blood.
The end result was a nude self-portrait, titled Ghost In the Machine. It’s accompanied by a video, which is part of the experience but is definitely, definitely not for the squeamish.
