Time flies! Garth Clark — art critic, art historian, curator, art dealer from has turned 70! We thought we would make the point using an photo of him at age 10 in his uniform from the College Street School, East London, South Africa.
Throughout his life, Garth has been a writer and commentator on modern and contemporary ceramic art, and a critic of the craft movement. For twenty-seven years, Clark and his partner Mark Del Vecchio owned and operated Garth Clark Gallery in New York City, with other locations across the country and the world. If you don’t already know, Garth is the founding editor-in-chief of Cfile.
Garth has always used his birthday as a hook to support nonprofits in dance, ceramics and earlier on for AIDS charities. And now, the nonprofit Cfile urgently needs your support so it can continue to provide free cfile.daily news and review journal, and create more services for emerging artists and students in the cfile.campus. Don’t disappoint. Give today.
Above is him in Mykonos “some” years ago (1973 to be exact).
80+ books, hundreds of lectures on five continents, and 600 curated exhibitions later, Garth asks that you support his project of 4 years, the Nonprofit Cfile Foundation. You can donate any amount, small to big. OR become a member of the cfile.campus ($75.00/year or $7.50/month). Help carry this amazing knowledge site and archive for cutting edge ceramics in art, design, technology and architecture into its 5th year. CFile subsists completely off donations and membership sales. At the beginning of 2017, we were rated “#1 on the Planet” by Feedspot.
