This season of major fine art auctions has turned up a lot of ceramics of note. Listed below are ones we’ve noticed for Christie’s, Phillips and Sotheby’s.

Listed below is work by Roy Lichtenstein, Hannah Wilke, Joan Miró, Dan Flavin, Lucio Fontana, Jeff Koons, Pablo Picasso, Robert Arneson, Keith Haring, Sterling Ruby, Ai Weiwei and Leoncillo Leonardi. The highest price went to the Lichtenstein cup (pictured above).

Jeff Koons, Balloon Dog (Red), 1995, porcelain, 11 x 11 x 4 1/4 inches. Estimate: $8,000 – $12,000. Sold: $21,250 at Sotheby’s.

Jeff Koons, Puppy Vase, 1998, glazed white ceramic vase, 17 1/2 x 11 x 16 1/2 inches. Estimate: $6,000 – $9,000. Sold: $18,750 at Phillips.

Pablo Picasso, Vase Aztèque Aux Quatre Visages, 1952, ceramic vase, 20 inches height. Estimate: $50,000 – $70,000. Sold: $100,000 at Sotheby’s.

Robert Arneson, Audio Visual, 1974, ceramic, 20 1/2 x 14 x 20 inches. Estimate: $60,000 – $80,000. Sold: $87,500 at Christie’s.

Keith Haring, Untitled, 1989, earthenware and black paint, 11 3/8 x 9 1/2 inches. Estimate: $5,000 – $7,000. Sold: $16,250 at Sotheby’s.

Sterling Ruby, Ashtray 198, 2011, glazed ceramic, 13 x 17 x 2 inches. Estimate: $15,000 – $20,000. Sold: $40,000 at Phillips.

Ai Weiwei, Coca-Cola, 2012, han dynasty vase and paint, 15 x 12 2/3 x 12 2/3 inches. Estimate: $400,000 – $600,000. Not sold according to current information.

Leoncillo Leonardi, Untitled, 1966, stoneware and enamel, 20 1/2 x 20 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches. Estimate: $50,000 – $70,000. Not sold according to current information.
