We have selected works that deal with the vessel form from a mountain of preview material we have received for Art Basel Miami (Miami Beach, December 3 – 6, 2015), the biggest American nomadic camp for contemporary art. Nearly 270 leading galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa show significant work from the masters of modern and contemporary art, as well the new generation of emerging stars. Paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs, films, and editioned works are on display in the main exhibition hall. Ambitious large‐scale artworks, films and performances become part of the city’s outdoor landscape at nearby Collins Park and SoundScape Park. So far it seems that clay and ceramic is less of a presence this year but quality for the medium is up even though it is eerily conservative.

there is a certain amount of evidence to suggest that the ‘han dynasty’ urns often used without verified aunthenticity are modern replicas.
