Hostler Burrows is a New York Gallery founded in 1998 by Kim Hostler and Juliet Burrows. The gallery is involved in the market of Nordic design, promoting the work of 20th century Scandinavian designers. They also focus on studio ceramics, cabinetmaking, furniture and textiles.
Six Women is a recent exhibition which runs from Oct. 2 to the 30th. The gallery states: “The gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of selected ceramics by six international women artists whose work commands our attention through a wide range of material, texture and form. These artists share a strong design aesthetic; the direct and complex nature of the female hand is evident throughout their work, patient and formidable.”
Selections from the exhibition follow.
