The Creative Arts Workshop of New Haven, Connecticut recently announced winners for Box Pot: The Contained Container, a juried exhibition with Garth Clark of CFile.
Fourteen different artists were featured in the exhibition which will run at the gallery until June 6. They were tasked with submitting sculptural work that comprised a box in a pot and giving a reason for that composition. According to the Courant newspaper, the works featured everything from ceramic compositions, to a dashboard with air conditioning controls, to a pot depicting severed heads appearing inside a church.
The jury selected two works out of that show. The prizewinners will participate in a joint show at CAW in Spring, 2015. These works are featured in the images which follow. The winners were:
Thomas Edwards, Five Dinner Mugs, 2013.
Del Harrow, Air Breath, 2013.
