MILAN—Italian design studio Terzo Piano investigates primordial concepts through the creation of its Neo Primitive collection featuring pseudo ritualistic compositions in set design and mood boards, DesignBoom writes. The thematic aesthetic strips away the inessential and impure in favor of a more raw and instinctual approach.
To the origins, to a primordial purity. A tendency in act, not only in the world of design, but also in fashion and art. This project investigates this trend. A journey in the most remote past towards an archaic simplicity, raw, contrasted to an era of hyper-technologisation. A return to the earth, to our roots. From the sets the superfluous is eliminated, in favor of a raw, instinctual basicity.
Drawing inspiration and palatte cues from natural materials such as sand, carbon and rock, Terzo Piano’s textile panels and simple design pieces coalesce into raw organic elements contributing to the overall aesthetic and strike a metamorphic and chromatic balance to the compositions. Each evokes an ancient ritual, the design studio writes.
Creating compositions that remember ancient mystical rituals. A rich language of archetypes and totem symbols that remain to an ancestral dimension, where the senses and perceptions reconnect those of human nature.
