When CFile last checked in on Spin Ceramics they were getting ready to open a showroom in New York City. The studio, if you remember, combines porcelain of the old Jingdezhen tradition with a contemporary, fluid quality and a commitment to glorious, glorious white.

They also have a habit of retiring designs so they can keep pumping fresh works into their showrooms. They’ve set aside as many as 300 in one year to keep new ideas cycling through. There’s an ephemerality to these wonderful designs, so you might want to grab some of these works before they vanish from their inventory.
Chinese Kung-fu vases by Gary Wang. These six forms mimic the movement of classical kung-fu fighters. Fluid and sturdy, they’re ready to either defeat your enemies or display some flowers.
Dim Sum Gift Set by Gary Wang. These paperweights are styled after dumplings, contained in a bamboo steamer.
Food + Wine Party Plate by May Zhao. The plates in this set remove the awkward element of dinner parties with nothces for one’s thumb and wine glass. This means you can carry your food and libations while still being able to shake hands, or wave.

Gentlemen’s Dinner Plate by Gary Wang. Conform to dominant gender roles with a series of sexed dinner plates. Men sit in front of the plates with belts, ladies sit next to the plate with pearls or ribbons.

Paper Lantern Candle Lamp by Gary Wang. Born in a high-fire kiln which creates incredibly strong ceramic forms, the lamp is thin enough to be translucent. Set on a pine base.
