Beloved comedian, television host, actor, writer and producer Ellen DeGeneres can now add ceramic designer to her long resume. DeGeneres has teamed up with contemporary interior living brand Royal Doulton to create ED Ellen DeGeneres, a lifestyle tableware collection. Inspired by her iconic style, values and personality, the collaborative design effort features a fresh and fun approach to dining.

[Each] dining set sources the world renowned television host’s appreciation for mid-century artists and designers, fusion of natural materials and finishes, and the talents of handmade African themes. the result is a unique assembly of eight different tableware designs, where artisanal qualities are at its forefront.
DesignBoom writes the partnership produced mix and match ceramic dining sets that are woven together through the employment of soft forms, a playful palette and delicate glaze detail. The collection’s palatte includes a pale polar blue, a dark cobalt blue, charcoal, white and neutral with pairable accents such as tiny dots, thin stripes and chevrons. The palatte and accent designs enable consumers to create their own bespoke collection embracing and expressing their own sense of style and individuality.
The collaborative collection debuted at the Ambiente fair in Frankfurt, Germany earlier this year. DeGeneres told Ambiente the collaboration has been an exciting journey.
“I’m so excited to be working with Royal Doulton. We’ve created elegant but simple designs that I think you’re going to love. I should warn you, they’re so beautiful that you’ll want to gobble up all your food as fast as you can just to see the plates again. But don’t do that, you’ll get a tummy ache.”
In addition to Royal Doulton and DeGeneres’ mix and match dining sets, the duo has also created a collection for home, human and furry friend featuring playful doodles and hearts.
