Across the board Atelier Vierkant (Studio Four Corners in Flemish) is Brussels-based with a showroom that just opened in San Francisco. They specialize in what they describe as “high-profile handmade ceramics” and say that each of their designs are unique and tell a different story. In addition to planters and seats, they’ve worked internationally on large-scale buildings, private residences and exhibited at Design Week in Milan.
The studio has set both the landscape and interior design worlds alight. Praise is pouring in from publications worldwide for their hand-crafted range of large planters and ceramic seats. Their key is rich surfaces, obvious handcraft individuality and powerful form. Anyone from the craft world who believes that design cannot deliver an authentic large-scale ceramic vessel should think again. This is the perfect storm, a blend of material, design craft and very skillful, stylish, targeted marketing. It is a master class for those who want to cross over into a more sophisticated marketplace.
Below are photographs of some of their work with more information.
