Taiwan company Bonnsuu was founded by Ai, who graduated from Taiwan Normal university in Fine Art and her partner Adam, a United States and Swedish designer who met Ai while studying product design at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. They create “lifestyle” products across several fields which are unified by their worldviews.
Stamp Cup is a 2011 ceramic work by the duo which was produced for Taiwan Designer Week as part of an exhibition called “SoulFun.” The pair were prompted to create a small, everday object which adds a little fun to daily living.
The ceramic cup has a golden base, making it appear as though it’s a trophy. The cup is removable from the base, but if you forget to put it back the cup will leave a smiley face stamp on the surface on which it was placed. They state, “The stamp acts as a reminder to both keep your space organized but most importantly to keep happy and enjoy the little mistakes that happen on the way.”
Seems a little passive agressive, but who can argue with that adorable smile?
