This is the first Ceramics + Photography post, a new feature that shows portfolios of photography that explore the diverse world of ceramics.
These photographs are the work of the potter Alex Matisse. He took them with his phone, which didn’t keep them from achieving a handsome, textural presence. The images record the working life at East Fork Pottery in Marshall, North Carolina, which Matisse shares with fellow potter, John Vigeland. Their studio and these photographs mark an inspired collaboration.

Ahh, I can smell the the romance of the backwoods country potter in these. Clever use of B/W. Lol.
