OAB (Office of Architecture in Barcelona) clad this home in Spain in white tile. The architects said that the tile is anchored on hidden stainless steel separators along all vertical and horizontal surfaces of the building. The house was designed with a sanded matte stainless steel angle that goes around the cladding and highlights the changes in the floor plan. The tile is split in places to facilitate ventilation and indirect light.
OAB was founded in 2006 by Carlos Ferrater, a doctor of architecture and professor of architectural project design at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. His co-founders were Xavier Martí, Lucía Ferrater and Borja Ferrater. The firm quotes William Curtis in its ideology page, stating that Ferrater is of the “rationalist” lineage, but who uses the utilitarian as a basic discipline in the “search for an art of proportion, space, color and light.”

Hey there, does anyone know where I could find a more detailed analysis on this building? I’m writing my Master’s thesis, and there doesn’t seem to be that much information on it. Even in the few libraries I tried, there aren’t a lot of books/articles. Please help.
Thank you.
Noel
