Ceramic artist Jacob van der Beugel’s creative spin on the family portrait won a 2014 CODA Award for a residential interior project. We profiled this project on CFile previously. The North Sketch Sequence in Chatsworth, Derbyshire in the UK is an entire handmade room which depicted, in ceramic translation, the DNA of the Duke and Duchess of Devonsire, their son and daughter-in-law, Lord and Lady Burlington and a portrait of an anonymous “everyman.”
According to an announcement from Joanna Bird, an art consultant on the project, the installation was chosen from more than 336 entries across 32 countries.
