K/O Design Studio’s work on the Senzoku Gakuen College of Music in Kawasaki, Japan looks like speculative design for a building on Mars. Silver Mountain, as the designers call it, is a bulb-like silver structure adjacent to a red tower, or the Red Cliff. The freeform portion holds rehearsal halls and the tower is home to offices as well as faculty and student lounges. At night red lights around the building cause the silver portion to glow red.
The architects tell Dezeen Magazine that the silver building is clad with stainless steel plates while the red tower was done in mosaic tiles to create a patchwork effect. The overall goal was to show off the “powerful outline of form and contrast of silver and red.”

I agree. There are plenty of mountains around Santa Fe, but we could use a metallic one.
