MÜNSTER––Asymmetrical bricks yield an undulating effect in this contemporary façade. Designed by Behet Bondzio lin Architekten, the undulating brick is a reference to the industry, which the building serves as headquarters to: Association of the Northwest German Textile and Garment Industry, DesignBoom writes.
The inspiration for the brick façade was the alabaster fold of the Beethoven statue by Max Klinger, one of the statue’s most notable features being the realistic folds of the robe that envelops the figure. the firm was particularly interested in the paradoxical perception of a seemingly fluent light fabric that is in fact built from solid stone.

To create the drapped effect, the architecture firm used frogged bricks, each with an asymmetrical oblong stretcher side, in six different stones color bricks. The brick façade encloses the east, south, and west sides of the structure. with the north opening up with a glass window looking out to a beautiful landscape, DesignBoom writes.
The designed received recognition as a BDA Münster Award of Good buildings 2017 and the first place Award for Marketing + Architecture.
