Tale Ltd. is a studio from Seoul, Korea that incorporates simple narratives into their designs. Founded in 2010, they state: “TALE is a brand of designing with stories. We study materials, stories, myth and sensitivity related with object.”
Tale’s ceramic “Moon Glass” set tells a simple cyclical narrative. The interior of each cup is pitched to recreate the phases of the moon. As you drink, you can watch the moon wane, eventually leaving you with a new moon and a whole new month of drinking ahead of you. Maybe the design could help you imbibe more responsibly by tying your drinking to cycles in nature? Might be worth a shot.
The studio states that the black ceramic cups couple well with cloudy or opaque beverages. We suppose you also could try it with red wine if you wanted to be spooky.
Cups in sets of two are available for $24 from the Colossal Shop.
