We’ll periodically highlight selections from Ben’s show for your consideration. This week Ben interviewed collector Andrew Baseman, who writes the “Past Imperfect: The Art of Inventive Repair” blog. Baseman’s area of interest is “make do” antiques which feature inventive repairs. The pair talk about inventive repair, how repairs change the value of the object and of the role of decorative objects in entertainment. And, as an interesting note to comic book geeks like myself, Baseman is also the set decorator for the Fox television show Gotham, which is a prequel about Bruce Wayne’s life before he became Batman. You can see some of Baseman’s ceramic selections decorating Wayne Manor in the show.
An mp3 of the podcast can be found here. Click here to see Carter’s original post on Baseman.
