Swiss-Italian designer Claudia Napoleone designed this series of fluted-top pithcers in 2007.
The pitchers make use of their circular shape for function and aesthetic. A rounded base allows them to rotate while remaining upright and 360-degree splines around the body of the pitcher allows them to be gripped from anywhere.
The set is available through Esprit Porcelaine Limoges. It’s been exhibited at the Design Museum in Ghent, Belgium, Salon Maison & Objet in Paris and in Barcelona and Paris Design Week.
Napoleone went to the School of Applied Arts in Vevey before working part-time in her own studio. She designs utilitarian ceramics and prefers that her Brocca Trottola pitchers be on private tables as opposed to exhibitions.
