The architecture firm Supersudaca (or Supersudaka, they seem to use both names) in 2009 completed work on a project called Church(ita) in Villa la Paz, Talca, Chile.
The designers told ArchDaily that the building is next to one of Talca’s “harshest” ghettos and, in addition to being a place of worship, the church embraces social agendas and community programs.
The budget for the building was very small and had to accomodate communal meeting rooms and a library to help with its social work. The fractal-like structure of the church is accomanied by a ceramic mosaic by artist Simon Fuentes. The designers have termed this a “millenary religious technique.”

This is positively extraordinary – a place of grace and elegance in an unlikely and totally appropriate setting. I have shared with followers of Mosaic Art NOW. Thank you so much for sharing it.
